Tanner and I just got engaged on Christmas Eve. Its a tradition for my family and I to open gifts from siblings on Christmas Eve and Tanner said to me, "I think there is something else for you in the tree underneath the ornament of your 3rd grade picture." It still didn't hit me that he was going to propose because I thought he was going to get me a necklace for Christmas. I sat back down on the couch and opened the box to find it empty! Tanner then got down on one knee and asked me to marry me. I was still in shock and all I could think to say was, "Babe!" My family has it all recorded and took many pictures. It was such a surprise! I cannot wait to be married to him forever!
We are not sure of the exact date yet when we will get married because of several things going on. I have to get through this last semester of nursing pre reqs so I can apply for Intermountain Health Care's nursing program and classes don't end until about May 7th. We also would like Tanner's brother Taylor to be there for our wedding before he leaves for his mission. We are aiming for the first week in June.
Tanner and I have known eachother and have been friends since the 9th grade! I would always ask Tanner for piggy back rides across the parking lot when we went to seminary. Supposidly he said that he was "annoyed" of giving me piggy back rides so one day he threw a snowball in my face..I know mean..:) During high school we dated other people and so we really did not see eachother that often. One night during my senior year in high school one of Tanner's friends text me inviting me over to Tanner's parents house to hang out. I was so excited because I had not seen Tanner in ages! That's where our relationship started. He took me to prom and we just started hanging out more and more and decided that summer we would be in a relationship. We have been dating for 2 and 1/2 years now.
Tanner is hopefully going to be in the Police Academy this year and I will hopefully be in a Nursing program. Tanner bought his own condo last year in Holladay. It will be nice not to have to worry about buying a house or renting out an apartment when we get married. He is currently selling satelite a couple days a week. I am working as a critical care tech in the Emergency Department at Alta View Hospital. I have enjoyed every minute working there.
